You may have heard of Michael Yon. He is a citizen-reporter who has spent more time with troops in Iraq than anyone else (and also the one who snapped this famous pic at right). He has recently published a book and on the link below you can read the first chapter. His stories are amazing and inspiring and objective. For instance, he was the first one to report that Iraq was in the midst of a civil war a few years ago, which earned him some heavy criticism from some war supporters. He returned to Iraq in 2006 and now reports on the amazing turnaround that he has seen not only in the military side but in the relationships between the American soldiers and the Iraqi people thanks to General Petraus' strategy. His testimony has single-handedly changed my mind about whether we should keep our troops there (and convinced me that John McCain has the right strategy on Iraq after all, notwithstanding my post from earlier this week).
